At the heart of Trust Builders Construction is owner-operator Apanui Mason, a seasoned industry professional with more than 30 years of hands-on building experience. His work across Wellington, the South Island’s West Coast and the Bay of Plenty has shaped him into a highly skilled Licensed Building Practitioner known for precision, integrity and an eye for detail. Since 2017, Apanui has been joined by his son Petaera, forming a hardworking father-and-son team supported by a dedicated group of builders and apprentices. As Registered Certified Builders, our team not only upholds industry best practices but also offers the reassurance of a Certified Builders Guarantee on eligible projects.
A highly skilled, trade-qualified carpenter and registered certified builder, Apanui brings decades of experience and a genuine passion for creating beautifully crafted homes. His commitment to delivering high-end results on time and within budget is at the core of every project. Working alongside his son and team, he combines traditional craftsmanship with modern building techniques. Outside of work, Apanui is a family man who enjoys fishing, diving and volunteering with local rugby and rugby league clubs—values that inspire his community-focused approach to building.
